The Monroe County Drug Free Communities is all about helping you create a community where all members, youth and adults, can live healthy lifestyles free of substance abuse. (Mission)
What is Monroe County Drug Free Communities? It is a coalition of concerned community members who want to make a difference. We are concerned about the problems substance abuse is causing in our community.
Together we are working to decrease substance abuse in Monroe County through various activities, including: random student drug testing, local youth prevention councils, parent to parent groups, town hall meetings, community wide campaigns, environmental policy changes and broad-based community collaboration.
Key goals include having a lasting impact on Monroe Countians by reducing the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs; enhancing protective factors in our community; and strengthening the Coalition’s capacity by adding to our membership.
